Homemade Taco Seasoning can bring a delicious gluten-free and paleo friendly Mexican flavor to your dinner table in so many ways! (Gluten-free)
Welcome to Part Two of all things delicious! Mexican cuisine!
I decided that this month is dedicated to my love of Mexican food. I get onto these kicks with this cuisine and there is no jumping ship till I say so. So the question of the day. How do you make your own homemade taco seasoning? It. is. so. easy.
Very similar to the Taco Sauce ordeal I knew what was coming in the taco seasoning package at the store wasn’t ideal, packed with sodium and other ingredients that we simply should not be consuming. Luckily I jumped ship to the DIY taco seasoning about two years ago and never went back.
I was definitely nervous about making my own. I had no clue how easy and on-point the flavor is when you make your own. My absolute favorite taco seasoning packet was the Taco Bell flavor packet.
This epic combination of spices brings me to Taco Bell seasoning heaven. Just the seasoning though, the low-quality meat mixed with grains definitely is not what I have in my house. Thank goodness.
One thing this blog has trained me to do is start measuring things. Yes, I’m one of those people. Dash of this, sure why not some of this, and LOTS of that. You got me, I don’t measure normally.
When I first started making this I did indeed measure. I’d make myself a huge batch and store it for future taco nights. Which is something I’d recommend until you got the the recipe practically memorized. That might be a dead giveaway of how much taco seasoning I use… lots. So much I’ve given up all together on making batches.
One thing that I know for sure. These are all basic ingredients you should have in the cabinet to begin with. You will never go back.
